Pain, stiffness, or performance drops are often not the problem. They’re the signal.

WHAT IS MAT?
When the muscular system isn’t working properly, the body compensates — and pain, instability, or performance loss appear.
Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) are a neuromuscular intervention focused on identifying and correcting muscle inhibition. When a muscle doesn’t respond properly, the body compensates. MAT allows us to detect these limitations and restore function so movement becomes efficient and stable again.

WHO IS IT FOR?
This in-person service in Andorra for functional improvement and post-injury recovery is ideal for:
✅ Athletes and active individuals
✅ People with chronic pain or joint stiffness
✅ Athletes with muscular imbalances or performance issues
✅ Functional rehabilitation after injuries or overload
When we remove the limitation, the body can better express its true capacity:

HOW DOES A MUSCLE ACTIVATION SESSION WORK?
Muscle activation is based on a key principle: when there is a limitation in range of motion, it is often because one or more muscles responsible for that movement are not responding properly. If these limitations are not corrected, the body continues adapting through compensation. Over time, this leads to recurring pain, less efficient movement, and limited performance.
03. Range-of-motion restoration
Muscles affected by stress, trauma, or overuse are reactivated, improving mobility and stability.
WHAT ATHLETES AND PATIENTS SAY
“Una gran experiència! Una millora del rendiment molt notable només després d’una sessió.” — Rober B.
“Vaig recuperar mobilitat després d’una temporada intensa com a instructor de snowboard” — Roberto C.
“Si vols rendir millor i sentir-te fort de veritat, aquest és el lloc” — Nadir O.

WHY HAS NOTHING WORKED FOR YOU SO FAR?
I’m Albert Piñol (BSc, MSc, TES, TS, MAT Cert.), a specialist in exercise science, biomechanics, and performance with over 20 years of experience.
When a muscle stops activating properly, the body compensates — leading to symptoms like pain, stiffness, and loss of stability.
Studies show that more than 70% of people with pain present muscle inhibition [1][2], and that reactivating it can improve strength by up to 30% after a single session [3][4].
The solution is not doing more exercise — it’s reconnecting the neuromuscular system.
The first step is identifying what is limiting your system. From there, function can be restored and built on a solid foundation.

WHEN IS MAT NECESSARY?
Intervention is not always required.
But when these signals appear, your system may be limiting performance:
• pain keeps coming back without a clear reason
• mobility or stability don’t improve
• performance becomes inconsistent
• strength doesn’t transfer well into movement
In these cases, continuing to train doesn’t always solve the problem.
The limitation must be identified and removed.
